OUR PHILOSOPHY

ABOUT DOWNS LAW

PERSONAL • THOUGHTFUL • FORWARD THINKING

Downs Law is a boutique, commercial real estate law firm that helps clients with commercial landlord/tenant matters, commercial collections, evictions, transactions and disputes, as well as providing general legal counsel and litigation assistance for businesses.

SIMPLIFYING YOUR LEGAL PROBLEMS

Will Downs, attorney and founder, brings a passion for counseling clients through the law’s uncertainty, simplifying complex legal problems, and providing clear communication. We accomplish this by utilizing technology to increase security, simplify and streamline the client experience. Clients have access to our online portal which allows us to securely share documents, send messages via text and email, and easily communicate and schedule events via your desktop, tablet, or smartphone.

BUILDING TRUST & TRANSPARENCY

We are committed to earning your trust from our very first interaction. We’ll review your background facts and pertinent documents, and if we think we can help, we’ll provide an outline of the steps we’ll take to get you to your desired goal and a realistic budget of what those services will cost.

INFORMING AND EQUIPPING OUR CLIENTS

We believe you should be as well-informed as possible about your legal issues and all possible outcomes before you incur unnecessary time and expense. We understand that the decision to hire an attorney is a difficult one. We commit to arm you with as much information as possible so you can make an informed decision.

COMMUNICATING CLEARLY AND CONSISTENTLY

Our team will communicate clearly on all aspects of your case, sharing  upcoming deadlines along with the strategy  we’ll use  to move your case forward. We share all documents with you and obtain your approval before sending important case communications or filings. We recognize that you are not a lawyer, so we commit to speak in layman’s terms and avoid confusing “legalese.”

WE MIGHT NOT BE A GOOD FIT IF…

Our approach may not be right for everyone. As much as we’d love to work with you, there are many other great lawyers out there who would be a better fit if you are looking for:

  • A “pit bull” or “bulldog” litigator

  • To cut costs by attempting to draft documents or legal responses yourself

  • You are not committed to being involved in your case. We will need your cooperation in answering our questions and providing requested information in a timely manner.
